FAC Classes Announced for 2013!

2013 Schedule 
Poetry at the Fremantle Arts Centre
Shane McCauley commences the Poetry Class at the Fremantle Arts Centre on Friday, 18th January, 2013. This class concentrates on the form, enabling new, progressive and established poets to enhance their poetic writing skills, knowledge and technique.
Shane is an award-winning poet with eight collections of poetry, including his 2012 chapbook Ghost Catcher. He is an erudite teacher, having taught at Edith Cowan University, Tafe and seven years at the Fremantle Arts Centre.

Prose at the Fremantle Arts Centre
Helen Hagemann commences the Prose Class at the Fremantle Arts Centre for 2013 on Friday, 8th February, returning with "Worldwide Short Fiction". This series will inspire writers to learn the techniques of short story writing by looking at the best writers/ new writers of short fiction from all over the globe incl. Anton Chekhov, Edgar Allan Poe, Raymond Carver, Ernest Hemingway, Delmore Schwartz, William Faulkner, Gabriel García Márquez, Franz Kafka, John Shirley, David Malouf, Katharine Mansfield, Christina Stead, Charlotte Perkins Gilman, Geraldine Mills, and many more.

Venue: Fremantle Arts Centre, 1 Finnerty St. Fremantle
Room: 2 - Upstairs in the north wing
Starts: Friday (fortnightly) on 8th February, 2013
Time: 10.00am til noon
Cost: $20 (OOTA members), $25 (non-OOTA members)

Monday Poetry at the Grove for 2013 with Helen Hagemann
Classes continue for Term 1 on a Monday - fourth Monday in the month. First class is Monday 25th February, & the final class for the term is Monday, 27th May: 1.00pm - 3.00pm. Helen continues teaching contemporary poetry for those wishing to write contemporary poetry.

Venue: The Grove Library, 1 Leake St. Peppermint Grove (cnr Stirling Hwy)
Room: The Flax Room (next to computer room)
Starts: Monday (the fourth Monday in the month) 
Time: 1.00pm - 3.00pm
Cost: $15 (OOTA members), $20 (non-OOTA members)
